Garlock 98-PBI*

Style 98-PBI is a graphite-treated staple carbon yarn combined with PBI*, a high-performance organic fiber with unique properties. In addition to all the excellent services provided by Style 98, our 98-PBI gives enhanced services against abrasives and slurries, does not burn in air (will not flame), has excellent chemical resistance, and retains strength against heat and chemicals - A Space-Age Fiber! Style 98-PBI is excellent for use on rotary shafts of pumps, agitators, reciprocating rods, rams, and plungers, valve stems, slip-type expansion joints, and many other services. This new product can handle strong acids and alkalis, air and dry industrial gases, natural, petroleum, and synthetic oils, and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
